Base Unit of Measurement : Unit of Measurement is a mathematical definition of a quantity,The value of base UOM value should be 1.This is an mandatory input to post values into Item related ledger.


Example: Consider Item "Pencil"  base UOM is 'No' and Secondary UOM is 'Dozen'. Create same as new UOM for UOM master.

Create a new Item at Home> Store> Setup > Item



Here, Item's base UOM is 'No' (number/s) and alternate UOM is 'Dozen' , We need to assign the base UOM 's equal value to 1 dozen . 

Here we assigned as 1 Dozen = 12 No.



Step : 4


Based on this Item , we made Item Inward,shipment and other Inventory related activity doing both base and secondary UOM basis.  


Item inward entry:


Create a new Item Inward at Home> Store> Transaction> Item Inward





Step : 5


Based on this Item inward , we made shipment both base and secondary UOM basis.


Create a new Item Inward at Home> Store> Transaction> Shipment


Shipment entry: Using Secondary UOM



Here, 0.5 Dozen = 6 No.




Shipment entry: Using base UOM




Now, Our closing stock Qty for this item is 4 No.
